During the reading academy I provided personalised learning strategies for pupils to help them advance their reading skills. An example of this is assessing each students reading level and interests then for those who were struggling I used phonics based methods, guided reading and repetition with high frequency words. For those who were more advanced I encouraged independent reading and used comprehension questions tailored to their strengths and weaknesses. In addition, I also added audiobooks, and visual aids for students who benefited from multi sensory learning. During this time I also developed active listening and clear communication, patience and empathy while teaching, building a rapport with students and motivating and encouraging learners
