English and Drama tutor with 22 years teaching experience seeks tutor roles

I have a BA Honours Acting diploma from Birmingham School of Speech and Drama and also a PGCE IN Secondary Education in teaching Drama and English. For the past 22 years I have taught Drama and English in a variety of diverse and differing schools. Additionally I have worked for AQA as a GCSE examiner.
I have a reputation and record of outstanding GCSE results from the students I taught, because I always get to grips with the specification I am teaching and harness creative and challenging ways of ensuring high results from my students. I am patient and take a student centred approach in my teaching, so that the student is given the responsibility of their learning and can learn key skills in terms of vocabulary, creativity and revision, and also have their own flair for writing and answering questions. I also work closely with the exam syllabus when tutoring GCSE or A-level students.
In addition to teaching Drama and English, I am also an experienced LAMDA teacher, and taught many children in preparation for high profile auditions or interviews to high profile universities such as Oxbridge or Harvard.
One of my greatest successes in my teaching career was teaching Drama in Kenya at an international boarding school where all the GCSE students I taught gained A and A* grades with two recognises as highest performance marks in the world for Edxecel.
I am an experienced AQA examiner, and can turn my hand to any exam board in both English and Drama. I also use my Drama skills whilst working alongside an English tutee in order to encourage them to have the confidence to use role play and discuss questions in the exam paper, on order to cement their knowledge and understanding. I also ensure that I can quickly align my teaching with their learning so that they can receive the highest level of teaching and learning.
