We honestly cannot recommend Emmanuel enough. He tutored our daughter in both GCSE English Literature and Citizenship Studies. When she started with him, she was predicted a Grade 6 in English Literature and a Grade 5 in Citizenship. She ultimately achieved Grade 9s in both subjects. What impressed us most was that Emmanuel didn’t just teach her what to write in an exam. He worked on the gaps in her knowledge and helped her understand what the examiners were actually looking for. In English Literature, he really developed her confidence with analysing texts, constructing arguments and writing essays that were much more precise and sophisticated. In Citizenship, he helped her turn what had been one of her weaker subjects into one of her strongest, particularly by improving her subject knowledge and the way she approached the longer-mark questions. He takes the time to identify areas that need improvement and makes sure they are properly understood before moving on.
