My lessons are designed to make complex scientific concepts—particularly in biology, chemistry and biochemistry—accessible, engaging, and meaningful. Each session follows a structured yet dynamic format that supports deep understanding. I typically begin with a short warm-up activity such as a poll, question, or scenario to activate prior knowledge and set the context. This leads into a clear, scaffolded teaching segment where I break down challenging mechanisms using diagrams, animations, and real-world clinical examples.
Interactivity is central to my teaching. I integrate tools such as Vevox, Mentimeter, Moodle, and Blackboard to encourage participation, check understanding, and create an inclusive learning environment. Students engage in discussions, problem-solving tasks, and case-based activities that help them apply theoretical knowledge to clinical situations. I place strong emphasis on active learning, using mini-quizzes, teach-back moments, and formative assessments to reinforce key ideas and support ongoing progress.
My lessons are visually rich, evidence-based, and grounded in current scientific practice. I aim to build students’ confidence by connecting foundational principles to advanced applications, ensuring they understand not just what happens in biological systems but why it matters in real-world healthcare.
I bring several years of university-level teaching experience and have been recognised with the Award of Meritorious Mentorship – Best Lecturer for my commitment to student success. With a background in postdoctoral research and curriculum design, I create learning experiences that are rigorous, supportive, and tailored to diverse learners. My goal is to help students think critically, understand deeply, and enjoy the process of learning science.
