Maths Grade A* Computer Engineering Student Offers Online GCSE Maths Exam Preparation

I’m currently a student studying Computer Engineering at the University of Southampton and have a strong background in Maths. I want to tutor because I enjoy helping others understand challenging topics and find simple ways to approach problems. I’m patient, approachable and keen to help GCSE students build confidence and improve their exam performance.

My approach to tutoring is structured around the student’s exact GCSE exam board and specification. I will work through the specification carefully and systematically to make sure the student understands all the knowledge and skills required for their exams.

I focus on making difficult topics simple and straightforward, breaking concepts down into clear steps and using worked examples before allowing the student to apply what they have learned independently. I regularly check understanding throughout the lesson so that any gaps or misconceptions can be identified and addressed.

A major part of my teaching will be developing strong exam technique. I will use exam-style and past-paper questions to help students become familiar with the wording and style of their particular exam board. I will also focus on precise exam wording, showing students how to structure their answers and include the information needed to gain marks.

Lessons will typically last around 1 hour, with the structure adapted depending on the student’s needs. A lesson may include reviewing previous work, teaching a specific topic, practising questions and finishing with exam-style questions to check understanding.

My lessons are aimed at GCSE students, particularly those who want to improve their understanding, build confidence and prepare effectively for their exams. As a Computer Engineering student at the University of Southampton, I have a strong background in Maths and Physics, including an A in A-level Maths and a Grade 9 in GCSE Physics.
