Advert description
Mathematics has always been one of my strongest academic subjects. I achieved a high score in Mathematics in China's National College Entrance Examination and received some awards in a mathematics competition. With an academic background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, an MSc degree from the UK and current PhD studies specialising in wireless communications, I have developed strong mathematical reasoning, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
I can support students with mathematical concepts, homework, revision and exam preparation. My aim is not simply to help students obtain the correct answer, but to help them understand the reasoning behind each step, recognise different problem-solving methods and develop the confidence to tackle unfamiliar questions independently.
In my part-time role as a Lab Demonstrator at the University of Southampton, I support undergraduate students by troubleshooting problems and assessing their understanding through targeted questions. This experience has helped me develop a patient and structured approach to guiding students through challenging material.
I am happy to revisit difficult topics, work through examples step by step, and identify areas that need further improvement. I believe that everyone can make progress in Mathematics with clear explanations, regular practice and the right support. My goal is to make Maths more approachable, help students build a solid understanding of key concepts and develop greater confidence in their studies.
