Zhen He

I am currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the UK, specialising in wireless communications. I completed my undergraduate studies in China and subsequently obtained an MSc degree in the UK.
I have experience working as a part-time Lab Demonstrator at the University of Southampton, supporting undergraduate EEE students during laboratory sessions. My responsibilities include helping students troubleshoot coding and compilation issues, resolving practical problems, and assessing their understanding through questions and marking.
As a native Mandarin Chinese speaker who grew up in China, I have a strong command of Mandarin and a good understanding of the Chinese language and culture. During my undergraduate studies, I also volunteered as a guide at a history museum, where I developed my ability to communicate information clearly and engage with different audiences. In addition, I participated in recitation and public speaking activities during secondary school, which helped me develop confident verbal expression and clear Mandarin pronunciation. My academic background has also helped me develop strong mathematical reasoning and analytical skills.
As an international student, I understand the challenges of learning and communicating in a foreign language. My experience of adapting to a new academic environment has given me a greater appreciation of the patience, practice, and confidence needed to overcome language barriers. My educational experience has also allowed me to interact with people from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. I welcome the opportunity to support learners with different backgrounds and goals, helping them develop their knowledge, confidence, and independent learning skills.
