Advert description
Background:
I have completed my own GCSE and A level Chemistry courses with high marks (A* and A, respectively). Since then, I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology (1st), and a Master of Science in Global Sustainability Solutions (Distinction), both at the University of Exeter. I have also worked in pharmaceutical advertising for 5 years, dealing with advanced scientific content on a daily basis. Nowadays, I focus on teaching, splitting my time between teaching GCSE Chemistry and yoga.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching is designed to do more than just repeat what you learned in school. I aim to clarify areas of confusion to deepen your understanding, and help you retain the information you have learnt by helping you develop effective learning tools.
As a graduate of psychology, I have a naturally people-centric approach. I actively try to see information both as a teacher who knows the content, as well as a student who may be confused by it, and why, without judgement. Likewise, having been a student who was affected by ADHD, I developed truly effective ways to learn and retain information even when working with a limited attention span. This was quite beneficial for my teaching, as I have learnt to explain concepts in efficient and memorable ways.
