Experienced Photography Tutor – Learn Photography at Your Own Pace

My strengths are my patience, creativity and ability to communicate photography in a way that makes it accessible and enjoyable. I’m particularly good at helping people who may lack confidence or feel that photography is technically difficult. I break things down into manageable steps and adapt my teaching to suit the individual learner.

I also bring a strong combination of practical photography experience and teaching experience. I encourage students to experiment, ask questions and develop their own creative style rather than simply teaching them a set of rules. My experience working with SEND learners has strengthened my ability to recognise different learning styles and adapt my approach accordingly.

Another strength is my ability to connect photography with people, places, stories and personal experiences. I enjoy helping students find their own reasons for taking photographs and developing projects that have meaning to them.

One of my weaknesses is that I can sometimes be too focused on getting things right and can spend longer than necessary refining a piece of work. I have learned to manage this by setting clear objectives and deadlines, prioritising what will make the biggest difference to the learner, and recognising when something is already good enough to move forward.

I also continue to develop my knowledge and skills because I believe a good tutor should always be learning themselves. I see this as a strength as much as a weakness because it keeps my teaching current, reflective and open to new ideas. I hold an O Level in Photography, TQUK Level 3 Award in
