Advert description
I’m a passionate individual who genuinely loves history and learning. I truly believe we learn something new every day, with constant opportunities to share knowledge and skills.
I understand that education can feel challenging or overwhelming at times. As someone with dyslexia, my experiences encouraged me to explore different teaching approaches to support students in the way they need. I like to focus on revision techniques and exam answers, skills supporting students throughout their education.
I strive to provide positive learning spaces where students can discover their learning styles, recognise which techniques support their learning, and reach their potential. I have developed a range of revision techniques through my own search, and I am eager to share them to support others' educational journeys.
As a TA and tutor, I value 1-1 teaching: creating lessons and adapting how we learn to each student, planning around their individual goals, needs, and abilities. I am a visual learner and teach in a similar way. I find creating physical interpretations of our topic useful for understanding, including timelines, models, acting, flashcard games, etc. Promoting their confidence in themselves and their knowledge.
My background is History; I have a degree in Ancient and Medieval History from Cardiff University and an A Level in Classical Civilisation, which allows me to offer specialised support in Ancient History. I currently work as a Teaching Assistant in a SEND GCSE setting and studied Pre-Teaching as an A Level.
I want every student to leave a session feeling more confident, capable and excited about what they have learned!
