Virtual English as a Foreign Language Tutor

Hello! My name is Elisabeth. I am Dutch, grew up in Spain, and learned English myself, so I understand the challenges and rewards of becoming confident in a second language. I am now studying Philosophy full-time at the University of St Andrews and bring that academic focus and discipline into the way I teach.For over three years, I have tutored English (as well as Spanish, Mathematics, and Economics) to students aged 5–16, achieving consistently strong results. I design structured, personalised programmes that target each student’s specific needs, whether that’s fluency, grammar, vocabulary, or exam preparation, while also building their skills as independent learners.

I am patient and enthusiastic, and my lessons are clear, organised, and adaptable. Alongside English, I also speak Dutch and Spanish fluently, which helps me connect with students from different backgrounds. I focus on giving learners the tools and strategies they need to progress, combining tailored content with study techniques that set them up for long-term success. This way, students not only improve their English but also become more confident, effective learners overall.
