My lessons are tailored to each student. At the start, we set clear goals together so I can design a programme that fits your needs, whether that’s speaking more confidently, improving grammar and vocabulary, or preparing for schoolwork and exams. I have experience designing programmes for classes that I've taught and individual student that I've tutored. When appropriate, I may ask for your permission to reach out to your teacher to ensure our learning aligns with the work you're doing in class.
I usually combine conversation practice with structured exercises, so you get to use the language actively while also strengthening the technical side of the language. I’m patient and enthusiastic, and I adapt my style depending on how you learn best. Over the past three years, I’ve successfully tutored English for students aged 5–16, many of them online, so I’m very comfortable creating engaging virtual lessons. Beyond this, I have experience working with children as a ballet teacher, a surf instructor and a babysitter.
Since I’m fluent in Dutch, Spanish, and English, I know what it takes to learn a language and how to make steady progress. My aim is always to help students not only improve their language skills but also become more confident, independent learners.
I am studying at the University of St Andrews. My course consists mostly of independent studying, so I am flexible to tutor you any day of the week at the time that works best for you.
