Advert description
I am an experienced academic tutor and current PhD student at the University of St Andrews, with several years of experience working one-to-one with students across a wide range of ages, abilities, and academic goals. My teaching is highly personalised: I begin by identifying each learner’s strengths, areas for development, and preferred ways of working, then build structured lessons that adapt as the student progresses. I have taught mathematics through calculus, English and literature, history, Spanish, academic and entrance-exam preparation—including graduate and postgraduate entrance exams—as well as study and executive-functioning skills. I have also taught and tutored Biblical Greek at university level.
I aim not only to help students improve their immediate academic performance, but also to develop the confidence, reasoning skills, and independent learning habits that support long-term success. I particularly value clear explanations, thoughtful questioning, regular feedback, and creating an encouraging environment in which students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and tackling challenging material.
