Advert description
I like to understand how students think so that I can change my dialogue and explanations based on a student's ability. I also enjoy creating detailed lesson plans, going over past papers and spending time explaining concepts simply and clearly if a student is struggling. Usually, I start sessions with a 15-20 minute lesson on a topic to understand the student's level, before working through questions together and eventually testing the student's ability on harder problems.
I have experience teaching mathematics up to GCSE level, and could potentially push this to A-level if necessary. After completing my degree in biology, I am also comfortable to teach this subject to students with a wide range of abilities. Languages are also one of my strengths. I am English-Italian bilingual so can teach this with ease, including correct pronunciation, and can also speak French to A-level standard. I would take time to strengthen students' vocabularies by identifying patterns or flags to memorise words in another language. I can also construct grammatical tables to aid verb conjugations and preposition use.
