Physics PhD and R&D Engineer Teaching Maths and Physics from National 5 to University Level

Hello, I'm Romek, a Physics PhD, First-Class Mathematics with Physics graduate, and currently a Senior R&D Engineer working in scientific software development.

My route into science was a little unusual. I spent many years working outside academia before returning to university as a mature student. Because of this, I understand what it feels like to find maths or physics difficult, intimidating, or simply not taught in a way that makes sense.

I have experience teaching and supporting students at a variety of levels. During my PhD at the University of Glasgow, I worked as a tutor-demonstrator, helping undergraduate students in mathematics, physics, computational modelling, and laboratory classes. I also provided one-to-one tutoring in maths and physics throughout my postgraduate studies.

My teaching style focuses on understanding rather than memorisation. I aim to build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and help students develop the intuition needed to tackle unfamiliar questions independently.
