Advert description
I am a 4th Year MMath Mathematics student at the University of Reading, completing my final year and on track to achieve a First Class degree with a dissertation on Mathematical Logic and Model Theory.
I love to teach and help others understand the fascinating field of maths, aiming to dispel the belief that someone is "not a maths person".
Having achieved four A*s at A-Level (in Maths, Further Maths, Physics & Chemistry) and eleven 9s at GCSE, I have good experience at applying understanding and knowledge towards exams, with specific knowledge of the current specifications for different exam-boards.
I tutor online lessons for GCSE and A-Level Maths. The lessons are usually 1 to 2 hour sessions, depending on the preference of the student. The first 1 hour session is free, allowing me to assess the aims of the student and to give them the opportunity to decide if further lessons would be helpful.
The lessons are student-led, where I focus on working out where their understanding could be improved, explaining the required knowledge and techniques, and then working through some guided exercises. Further exercises to be done outside of the lesson can be given if desired. The lessons can also be tailored towards a specific exam-board to ensure exam-readiness.
I hope to give a focused understanding of the material a student needs to learn, but also aim to inspire a love for Mathematics, and the curiosity and fun that should be had in learning and exploring this fascinating subject.
Hourly rate:
