Advert description
I am a Licentiate of Trinity College of Music with over twenty five years of experience teaching woodwind (flute, clarinet, saxophone, recorder, fife etc.) and piano.
I offer individual online lessons via video streaming for beginner musicians to those auditioning for university, university students, those studying for National exams and graded exams with Trinity and ABRSM and everything in between. I can help you get the basics right, help you with technique, suggest repertoire, help you learn the classics, improvisation, jazz standards and much more. If you are working through the theory grades I can help you with that too.
I have worked with three Local Authorities in UK schools at primary and secondary levels, in higher and tertiary education settings with Bachelors students, and have run a successful private teaching practice for over twenty-five years. Additionally, I currently play in a woodwind quartet in my area and I am the tutor in a local teaching Concert Band. I am a member of the PVG scheme (Disclosure Scotland) registered for working with children and adults.
I offer a free online initial video consultation via Microsoft Teams so that you can be sure that I will meet your needs and we can discuss a plan to help you improve. If you are new to music, or new to an instrument, I can make some recommendations to help get you started. To ensure my commitment to you, I offer blocks of lessons with a regular weekly or fortnightly time slot, this will help to maximise your learning potential, and lessons are paid for in advance so that your time with me is guaranteed.
I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you with your music journey!
