Advert description
I am currently a student at the University of Oxford studying English and Spanish. I have been tutoring for two years; my most recent Spanish GCSE student jumped from a grade 3 in her most recent mock to a grade 8 in her final exam after fourteen hours of tutoring together.
I have taught in person at prestigious institutions such as Concord College and have worked online with students from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities. I believe that the secret to academic success is learning to work smarter, not harder. Students are often busy, stressed, and overwhelmed. A clear, concise and stress-free approach to learning is essential. Everybody learns differently - I offer free 30 minute evaluations before tutoring begins to as to concretely assess the best way to teach my students, and ensure that they reach their fullest potential in the shortest amount of time. I am passionate about improving student grades and also student confidence; the two go hand in hand.
As a younger tutor, I can relate well to students in a way that retired ex-teachers may not be able to. With me as a tutor, my clients feel as if they are speaking with someone who understands their position as students first and foremost - not someone from an entirely different generation who may be disconnected from the current experience of young people in the school system. I offer a fresh experience that will feel different from the school where they are spending so much time, and will allow them to progress significantly faster.
My genuine passion for my subject, aided by my positive attitude and supportive personality, allow my students to experience developing through their own merit, supported by an outside party, as opposed to being propelled forwards by an external force. I genuinely wish the best for my students; whatever questions outside lessons or extra help they may need, I am always available to respond, and will dedicate myself to ensuring that their experience is as positive as possible.
