Advert description
I specialise in helping university students develop the study skills needed to succeed in higher education. Drawing on many years of experience as a Senior Lecturer and former Programme Director in UK higher education, I have supported undergraduate and postgraduate students from a wide range of academic, professional and international backgrounds.
I help students develop effective approaches to studying, academic writing, critical thinking, research methods, assignment planning, literature reviews, referencing and dissertation preparation. Whether you are adjusting to university life, returning to study after several years or completing a postgraduate qualification, I tailor every session to your individual needs.
Many students seek support because they feel overwhelmed, lack confidence or are unsure where to begin. Together we break complex tasks into manageable steps, helping you organise your ideas, understand what your lecturers are looking for and produce work that reflects your true ability.
My teaching style is calm, patient and encouraging. Rather than simply helping you complete an assignment, I focus on developing the skills, confidence and independent learning strategies that will benefit you throughout your degree and future career. I encourage students to ask questions, think critically and become confident, self-directed learners.
Sessions are delivered online and personalised to your goals, providing flexible support wherever you are studying. Whether you need help with time management, understanding assignment briefs, preparing for examinations, improving academic writing or planning a dissertation, I will work alongside you to help you make steady progress and achieve your academic potential.
My aim is not only to help you succeed in your current studies, but to equip you with practical study techniques and academic skills that will continue to serve you long after graduation.
