Sophie Grinnell

My approach is supportive, friendly and tailored to each student. I know that everyone learns differently, and I aim to create a relaxed environment where you can ask questions, work through difficulties and build confidence without feeling under pressure.

I hold a PhD and have experience teaching at university level, including lecturing on health impact assessment and sustainability. My professional background spans research, environmental science, public health and social issues, giving me experience of explaining complex subjects clearly and helping people make sense of information.

Lessons are shaped around your needs and goals. We can work through concepts you find difficult, develop your academic skills, or break a larger task into manageable steps. I like to understand what you already know, identify where you need support and work collaboratively towards practical progress. I can also help you think through research questions, research design, qualitative methods, literature reviews and how to organise and communicate your ideas.

Whether you are returning to education, studying at university or looking to strengthen particular skills, you do not need to have everything figured out before we begin. My aim is to help you understand the subject, recognise your own capabilities and feel more confident tackling the next step.
