Advert description
Are you returning to education, studying at university, or finding studying and academic work a little overwhelming? I offer friendly, supportive tuition to help you develop your skills, build confidence and make sense of complex ideas.
A little about me
I hold a PhD and have experience teaching at university level, including lecturing on health impact assessment and sustainability. My professional background spans research, environmental science, public health and social issues. Throughout my career, I have worked with complex information and helped make it accessible and understandable to different audiences.
How I can help
I can support you with research methods, research design, qualitative research, literature reviews, critical thinking and wider academic study skills. Whether you need help understanding a particular concept, planning your approach to a research project, organising your ideas or developing your academic writing, we can work through it together.
What are my lessons like?
Every student is different, so I tailor lessons to your needs and goals. We will start by identifying what you want to achieve and where you need support. I explain things clearly, encourage questions and break challenging topics into manageable steps. My aim is to help you understand the subject rather than simply learn information by heart.
I offer a calm, patient and encouraging approach. You don't need to feel embarrassed about asking questions or admitting that something doesn't make sense. Learning is a process, and we can work at a pace that suits you.
Who might benefit?
I particularly welcome mature students, people returning to education and university students who want to strengthen their academic skills or feel more confident in their studies.
My goal is to help you recognise what you are capable of, develop practical skills and approach your studies with greater confidence.
