Advert description
With over 20 years of teaching experience as a primary school teacher, SENCo and a solid foundation as a trained reading recovery teacher, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field of literacy education. My academic journey culminated in a Master's degree in Literacy Learning and Literacy Difficulties, equipping me with profound insights into the challenges and solutions for dyslexic learners.
The landscape of education for those with dyslexia has transformed dramatically, embracing approaches that ensure learning is inclusive, effective, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual. At the heart of this transformation are key principles that have proven instrumental in enhancing literacy instruction for dyslexic students. These include a structured and sequential programme, the use of multi-sensory teaching methods, a commitment to cumulative teaching points, a focus on phonics-based and morphological approaches, and the strategic incorporation of over-learning to reinforce knowledge.
My interventions are deeply rooted in these principles, underscoring my strong belief in personalised learning that not only targets skill enhancement but also fosters confidence in students. As a passionate advocate for tailored educational strategies, I am dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those I teach, helping each student to unlock their full potential in literacy. I empower students to cultivate self-belief and to conquer any self-doubt related to their learning needs.
