Learn and practice English with an emerging literacy leader

I have a Master's of Education in Reading. I've been teaching adults to read for over a decade in a volunteer capacity. I've taught high school English for five years. I've recently been named an Emerging Literacy Leader of Texas by the Texas Association for the Improvement of Reading. I'll begin studying for a Ph.D. in Education in the fall of 2023.

All that said, I think studying language and literature should be fun. I can't teach you (and you can't learn with me) if we aren't having a good time. I approach my work with students as a kind of game - you are teaching me and I am teaching you, back and forth.

I try to run a student-led tutorial course in which the student and I work out early on what the students goals are, then we work together to meet them. I like a clear beginning, middle, and end to my tutorial work. I have high expectations of you - just like you should have high expectations of me.
