I love sharing knowledge and the rewards that come with teaching; seeing students’ progression and development academically but also in their confidence in their own skills. I haven’t formally tutored before, but it’s something I would love to do! Building trust with the student is incredibly important for them to succeed, so they feel comfortable asking questions in a positive learning environment. Students would request certain topics to look over and areas they struggle with. Depending on their preferred learning methods e.g diagram based or formal style notes, I will adapt the content and style for each individual. Scientific subjects require knowledge of the mark schemes and exam technique- going through exam-style questions during sessions and covering frequently asked questions prepare students to be able to maximise marks and apply their knowledge.
