My tutoring sessions are very focused on active recall- I set homework to help not just with consolidating knowledge but also with long term memory. I focus mainly on exam technique, as this is largely ignored in schools. I also give feedback, go through exam walkthroughs with the student. I have self taught myself a lot of the content, so I’m pretty confident in teaching the spec.
I make a detailed plan that works for the students schedule, to achieve their desired grade. I consistently quiz the students throughout the session, to help with their long term memory.
