I haven't tutored professionally yet, but my students have consistently come to me for help with understanding homework or preparing for tests. In middle and high school, I broke down ideas so that they were easier for other people to understand and less daunting. I know how it feels to be confused or stuck, so I'm patient, I ask questions to find out how someone learns best, and I break things down into small parts.
