My protocol/ process at the start of the process is a simple 3 step approach for the trainee/student to establish their needs and objectives
First meeting Usually 1h / 1h30
Step 1, Ice breaker - introductions, "Where are you from?" .... interests, hobbies, etc
Step 2, A, Are you a student? What are you studying? / B, For adults; What is/was your job? What is your profession?
Step 3, (the most important step)
What are your needs in English? What are your objectives? TOEIC exam preparation, business English, doing presentations, negotiating, meetings, business expressions, honing grammar structures, conversation practice for foreign trainees etc ... classic English learning
Establish the trainees' level at the beginning of the process with a view of targeted level expectations to be obtained
EG; A1, A2, B1,B2,C1, C2
"My level is B1. I'd like to reach B2/C1 after 25 hours of training" .... (for example)
Saving vocabulary PDF at the end of each session for trainees. Sent by e-mail to trainee after each viso meeting. No lost vocabulary
Planning slots / organisation of training schedule
Motivation, encouragement, empathy, and understanding for each trainee's needs. Establishing methodology and tools to be used. Deepl application, Breaking news English for comprehension and building understanding followed by exercises and recycling of syntax & discussion of the subject studied.
