As a dedicated English and Modern Writing graduate with hands-on experience as a secondary school Teaching Assistant in Gloucestershire, my lessons are designed to provide structured, engaging, and highly personalised support for students at both KS3 and KS4 levels. I work every day within the classroom, which means I have a deep and up-to-date understanding of the national curriculum, the skills required for success at GCSE level, and the areas where students typically need the most support.

My lessons are carefully planned to meet each student’s unique needs, whether they are looking to catch up, build confidence, or stretch their abilities further. Each session begins with a clear learning objective, followed by a short review of prior knowledge to help consolidate understanding. I then guide students through targeted tasks – these might include reading comprehension, language analysis, essay planning, or creative writing – depending on the student’s focus areas. I use a range of resources and strategies to keep lessons engaging and interactive, including model answers, visual prompts, collaborative discussion, and scaffolded writing support.

Students can expect a calm, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas, and making mistakes are all part of the learning process.

My goal is not only to help students achieve strong results but to spark a genuine interest in English – whether through exploring literature, improving creative writing, or developing persuasive and analytical skills. I believe that every student can make progress with the right support, and I’m passionate about helping learners discover their voice and grow in confidence. With regular feedback, a focus on personal progress, and structured yet flexible sessions, I’m here to guide students through every step of their English journey.
