Advert description
I taught in secondary schools for 6 years and have primarily been teaching adults the past 3 years. I am very familiar with both the Edexcel and AQA GCSE schemes of work and exam formats, and have created a range of engaging differentiated resources to allow students to approach each exam skill confidently. I genuinely believe everyone can do very well in their exams if taught in a way that responds to their individual needs, and even enjoy it! I also provide authentic French resources with advice on how best to use them in order to develop listening and speaking skills.
I have taught A-level literature and film, as well as a range of societal issues in schools and with adults over the years and genuinely love it! I spend a lot of time following French news to update a wide range of videos, articles and podcasts relevant the themes we study in lessons in order to provide students with authentic ressources to develop their understanding of French society and politics as well as listening skills. I also really enjoy helping students develop their French essay writing skills and have developed strategies to make it approachable and, again, enjoyable!
I have worked in education for more than ten years now, and I really love transmitting my passion for French language and culture. I genuinely believe that everyone can learn and enjoy it! I have worked with students of varying levels of confidence, including students who believed their dyslexia would be a barrier to learning or adults who hadn’t been in a classroom for decades and love the challenge of adapting my teaching to each individual and creating relevant, accessible, and engaging resources. I genuinely enjoy explaining grammar with visuals and colours to make it accessible (and even fun!).
I am proud to have inspired school students to continue studying French at university level, and to have helped adults gain in confidence and be able to move to French-speaking countries!
