Advert description
Since leaving school at 17 to work in construction, I have pursued a career transition into graphic design. Graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University with a BA (Hons) First Class in 2018.
I have accumulated over 5 years of experience working as a designer, both as a freelancer, in-house, and with independent agencies. During this time, I've had the privilege of collaborating with notable agencies such as Ultralight, Loaf, and DEPT, and contributed to projects for renowned companies including eBay, Coca-Cola, and Danone.
I have served as a mentor to junior designers at various agencies and provided guidance to students at The Manchester College. My approachability stems from my self-effacing nature—I openly discuss my own shortcomings and mistakes while demonstrating my skills. Additionally, having taken an unconventional path in changing careers and pursuing further education later in life, I empathise with people seeking to change their personal circumstances and overcome the fear of starting afresh.
In my teaching approach, I prioritise practical skills and personal development. My goal is to equip students with the necessary tools to build a portfolio they can take pride in, establish valuable connections, and kick-start their careers.
