Advert description
Starting work as a doctor in a new country can be daunting.
You may know the medicine well, but suddenly you're also learning a new healthcare system, different terminology, expectations, escalation pathways and ways of communicating.
I'm a UK-trained doctor offering supportive 1:1 practice for international doctors who are preparing to work, or have recently started working, in the UK.
We can practise real-world scenarios such as:
• Assessing a deteriorating patient
• ABCDE assessments
• Knowing when and how to escalate
• Presenting patients to senior doctors
• SBAR and clinical handovers
• Referrals and requesting senior input
• Communication with patients and colleagues
• Acute medical/surgical scenarios
• Understanding how UK hospital teams work
• Building confidence speaking up
• Preparing for common on-call situations
• ALS-style scenarios and emergency communication
These aren't formal lectures. They're a safe space to practise, ask the questions you may feel uncomfortable asking at work and run through situations until they feel more familiar.
Sessions are tailored to you. Tell me what you're worried about, struggling with or preparing for, and we'll work through it together.
The aim is simple: to help you feel calmer, clearer and more confident when you're actually standing in front of the patient.
