Maths tutor with 3 years experience tutoring GCSE

I am a 2nd year mathematics (with financial mathematics) student and have been tutoring for around 3 and a half years now. I enjoy tutoring maths as it is very satisfying to see the moment it 'clicks' and begins to make sense for students, and although many have an inherent dislike for maths being able to show it is not all scary (and boring!) is a key aspect of tutoring for me.

I have experience tutoring from Y9 to Y11 science and maths, but have focused mainly on maths, working with students aiming to achieve a wide variety of target grades. My teaching style mainly involves explaining the content briefly before using a simple question to demonstrate it in application, then work through harder questions allowing the student to take the lead and challenge themselves. This leads to sessions being very interactive and works well with students who are willing to try questions even if they are not 100% certain on how to answer it.
