Advert description
I studied at the British Academy of New Music in London before moving to Manchester to study music at Salford University, and have since gained a PGCE teaching qualification. Since completing my degree in music I have been working in and around the music industry. I have played alongside and supported some of the country’s biggest bands such as ‘The Who’, ‘Westlife’, ‘McFly’, and ‘Keane’ to name a few. The experience gained from being around these bands and learning how gigs of this calibre are organised has been priceless. I have been taught by drum legends Steve Washington (Take That, Texas), Steve White (Paul Weller) and Dave Hassell (Apitos). I have over 18 years teaching experience and currently hold teaching positions at BIMM Manchester, The Manchester college and Ricky’s School of Rock. I have experience teaching 1:1s to students between the ages of 4 and 70, as well as teaching large group lessons at BTEC and degree level. I teach ‘Ensemble Performance’ and ‘Music Styles’ at the Manchester College, which requires knowledge of playing guitar, bass, piano, drums, vocals and having music theory and history knowledge too. I have also been, and am able to facilitate drum grades, across all boards and levels, and have online teaching experience, both as 1:1s and group classes.
