Advert description
If we work together, my goal will not be to simply help you get more questions right. I want you to understand why an answer is right, why the other choices are wrong, and how to recognise the same pattern when you see it again.
As a Digital SAT Verbal Tutor and Tutor Team Lead, I have worked with students in both one-on-one and group settings. One thing I pay close attention to is how a student thinks. If you choose an answer, I want to know what led you there. If you get a question wrong, I do not want to simply give you the correct answer and move on. We will look at your reasoning and find the exact point where things went off track.
Sometimes the problem is not that you do not understand the content. You may have misunderstood what the question was asking, missed an important transition in the passage, chosen an answer because it sounded familiar, or overlooked evidence that was already there. Those are very different problems, and each one requires a different approach. My job is to help you identify your specific patterns so that we can work on the actual problem rather than treating every wrong answer the same way.
You can also expect our lessons to be practical. I will teach you strategies and processes that you can actually use during the SAT, rather than asking you to memorise a long list of rules and hoping they come up. For Reading and Writing, that might mean learning how to break down a difficult question, predict what the answer should be before looking at the choices, use the passage as evidence, recognise how transitions connect ideas, or approach grammar questions systematically.
I also want our lessons to be a place where you can ask questions freely. If something does not make sense, I would much rather you tell me than pretend you understand it. There is no benefit in rushing through a topic just because we are supposed to be finished with it. At the same time, I will challenge you when I think you are capable of doing more. The goal is not to make every question feel easy; it is to make you better at handling questions that initially feel difficult.
Outside the lesson itself, I value preparation and progress. I use assignments and student performance to identify areas that need more attention, so our work is based on what you actually need rather than a generic plan.
Most importantly, I want you to become less dependent on me
