Advert description
I have a Master's degree from Cambridge university in Mathematics.
With twenty-seven years of teaching experience (and also a useful background in financial mathematics having worked at the Bank of England), I am confident in my ability to inspire students and help them achieve their academic goals.
Throughout my career, I have taught Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Statistics to students from Year 5 through to Year 13, covering GCSE, iGCSE, AS Level, A Level, and International Baccalaureate.
I prioritise children's welfare and aim for the highest possible student outcomes. I believe that effective teaching is rooted in inspiration, enthusiasm, and the ability to foster excitement for learning.
I am adaptable and approachable, tailoring my communication to each student’s needs, which has allowed me to build trust with learners, even those who previously struggled to engage with education.
My teaching experience also spans mainstream schools and alternative provision settings, providing me with a broad perspective on how best to support diverse learners.
My commitment to positive outcomes is reflected in my record of raising pass rates at St one school to the highest in its history.
In addition to my teaching expertise, I bring significant experience from the financial sector, having led projects at major institutions such as Phoenix Group, PRA (Bank of England), and Lloyds Banking Group. These roles have helped me develop the ability to communicate complex concepts, both to colleagues and to students.
My qualifications include a PGCE in Mathematics and Business Studies (distinction) from Manchester University and an MA (Hons) in Mathematics and Management Studies from Cambridge University.
Additionally, I am a Parish Councillor allowing me to serve my local community.
