Experienced Tutor with more than 7 years of experience

I have a Masters Degree in applied mathematics and have been teaching for more than 7 years.
I am well organised:

1) identifying areas where students need some polish

2) emphasising structure and language; this helps with remembering

3) training students with formality and exam techniques:
i) always wrtiing down formulae
ii) explain how it ought to be rather than ovely verbose why it is incorrect
iii) show methods that reduce the possibility of making errors
iv) prioritising the use of number-types in working
v) very importantly: layout when answering Qs, especially with exam paper format

4) emphasising similarities between seemingly different topics
A lot of topics are / can be linear:
i) ratio
ii) proportion
iii) straight lines
iv) linear sequences
and more
The idea is nearly always y = mx and realising this can be key.

3) tracking student's progress and giving feedback
This helps the student and myself understand the progress and specifically helps me
plan lessons.
