Advert description
I teach through a clear, structured and student-centred approach that focuses on building confidence, understanding and independence. At the start of each lesson, I review prior learning and identify any misconceptions before introducing new content through clear explanations and worked examples. I regularly check for understanding through questioning and guided practice, adapting my teaching to meet each student's needs.
I promote a positive culture of error, where mistakes are seen as an important part of the learning process. This helps students develop resilience and confidence when tackling challenging mathematical problems. I combine high expectations with a supportive, firm and fair approach, ensuring students feel both challenged and encouraged.
My lessons include a balance of modelling, guided practice and independent application, with regular retrieval of previous topics to strengthen long-term retention. I use exam-style questions and problem-solving tasks where appropriate, helping students develop both mathematical fluency and deeper understanding.
Above all, my aim is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, enjoy learning Mathematics and leave each lesson with greater confidence in their abilities.
