Advert description
I am an experienced English educator with nearly 20 years of teaching across upper primary to A-level students. I hold a B.A. and M.A. in English, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), and professional certifications including IGCSE, TKT, and TEFL. Currently, I am pursuing a second Master’s degree in Leadership in Education at Liverpool John Moores University. My lessons are designed to be dynamic, engaging, and student-centered, combining structure with creativity, rigor with exploration.
I teach a wide range of English skills, including creative writing, grammar, oral English (diction), literature, reading and listening comprehension, vocabulary, and spelling. My lessons are designed to challenge students to think critically, communicate effectively, write creatively, investigate thoroughly, and collaborate meaningfully. I use an eclectic teaching style, drawing on diverse methodologies to suit the needs of each learner, ensuring that all students can participate and progress.
My classroom sessions are interactive and varied, incorporating discussion, practical exercises, literary analysis, reflective tasks, and real-world applications. As a published writer, I bring authentic literary practice into lessons, helping students connect theory with creativity and real-life language use. I integrate instructional aids, differentiated resources, and stimulating activities to maximize learning opportunities.
Beyond academics, I mentor, coach, and guide students, fostering confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. I aim to create a positive, inclusive, and empowering environment where students thrive both academically and personally. Every lesson is more than instruction—it is an opportunity to inspire creativity, nurture critical thinking, and open doors to new possibilities in language and life.
With every lesson, my goal is to help students become confident, independent, and enthusiastic learners who can express themselves clearly, think deeply, and achieve excellence.
