Advert description
I work as an Associate Lecturer for University of the Arts . I teach Art Foundation and theatre props making skills. I have planned and my own short courses before, with UAL and the National Theatre. I have also worked for many years at Mountview Academy as a props making tutor . Other places that I have taught, are Guildhall Drama School and Rose Bruford Drama School.
i am based in London .
i have a PG Cert in Teaching . My DBB is up to date.
my teaching cohort ages are from 18 years of age During covid, the art foundation course was presented and taught online for a year. The online year was an invaluable experience both for tutors and students.
my background is as follows
I am a trained mask and props designer and maker. I have worked for many years in the theatre industry, from English National Opera, The National Theatre and many West End theatre productions. I continue to work in the industry and so I am current up to date with new materials and processes that I bring to my teaching .
My lessons begin with a project brief, research, work development, making and then final outcome followed by constructive feedback . The student would have a physical 3D piece , be it a set design, model ,costume make , props object, mask for their final outcome.
The teaching day would focus on their development and skills workshops. The student would need to include independent study time to source research and references to build on their narrative.
