I always start with a general overview of what needs to be taught. i differentiate the basic skills that are teachable from the ones that can be self taught. I create an experience and adventure from the learning process and make it feel more of a chat than a lesson. I inspire the idea that learning is therapy for the mind and should be done on regular basis rather than on timely basis. I also focus on the rules of every language and how they relate to the vocabulary. As i speak 4 languages, i can attest that understanding the rules is more important to get you started than knowing a lot of vocabulary. Every skill or subject is a system which has set of rules which when broken down to simple comprehendible sections, can be a walk in the park.
