Advert description
I am a socially engaged art practitioner with 25 years of experience, a writer, an independent researcher, and a vocational teacher with a student-centred, constructive approach. I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education in Teaching and Supporting Learning, and bring a commitment to inclusive and dynamic pedagogy, anchored in a decolonised, queer and neurodivergent approach to visual culture.
Born in Milan, Italy, I have called London home since October 1990. From September 2015 to January 2024, I served as a 0.4 Senior Lecturer in Visual Culture on the BA/MA Fine Art programmes at Middlesex University. During my time there, I became known among students for fostering relationships grounded in trust, loyalty, and openness. In 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was honoured with a ‘Best Tutor’ award from the Middlesex Students’ Union—recognition for the care and support I offered during a time marked by anxiety and mental health challenges.
I believe that every individual brings something distinctive and extraordinary, shaped by their unique cultural contexts, alignments, contingencies, and conditions. I see it as essential to introduce fresh perspectives—both practical and theoretical—into all creative ecosystems, to remain responsive to the needs of our learning environments, and to stay future-facing amidst turbulent cultural and systemic change.
In the thick of these entanglements—whatever your needs may be—I’m here to ask:
What can I do for YOU?
