Advert description
Hi, I got a 9 in both Literature and Language
I would begin by assessing the student’s current level and identifying their strengths and areas for improvement, either through past papers, a short writing task, or discussing their schoolwork. I would then create a personalised lesson plan that focuses on exam skills, key content, and confidence building.
In each lesson, I would start with a short recap of previous learning, introduce a clear objective for the session, and use interactive activities such as analysing short extracts, practising exam-style questions, and guided writing. I would encourage students to think critically about language, structure, and context, while also building their ability to plan and structure essays.
To keep lessons engaging, I would use examples from texts they study (e.g., Shakespeare, 19th-century prose, modern texts, and poetry), as well as real-world examples to make English feel relevant. I would also check understanding regularly through questioning and feedback, and set small but targeted homework tasks such as timed practice paragraphs.
My overall aim would be to make lessons supportive, structured, and exam-focused, while also helping the student gain confidence and independence in their reading, writing, and analytical skills.
Plus, I don't charge very high - only £10 an hour - what a bargain!
