Sixth Form Student teaching Mathematics at a GCSE and AS Level in London

My name is Zayn, and I am currently a Year 12 student who has self-studied mathematics since Year 9, and is currently studying A-Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Spanish. I achieved thirteen 9s and one 8 at GCSE, and thoroughly enjoyed mathematics since the start of secondary school. I believe all students have the capacity to understand and feel excited by mathematics, but it relies wholly on the strength of their foundation in the subject. Often students are taught badly early on in their education, and this heavily and negatively impacts how they view mathematics as they progress through schooling, feeling as though material is whizzing by too fast without the opportunity to catch up. As such, my goal as a tutor is to ensure my tutee feels comfortable and secure taking their topics step by step, leading up to their exams, to inspire and foster a love for mathematics within them, rather than a fear.
