I believe that the current methodology of teaching mathematics in school can easily leave children behind and unable to catch up if they are unable to find help to build a strong basis early on. As such, as a tutor, my belief is that students will perform best if taught concepts reduced to simpler levels, to form a foundation upon which they can learn harder topics. I achieved 14 GCSEs, 13 of which were nines, and have self-studied past my mathematics curriculum since Year 9, having sat my GCSEs in mathematics and further mathematics early (both 9s), and now self-studying A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics to sit this year. I have experience tutoring my peers and younger students in Mathematics, and I have participated in the UKMT programme since Year 7, placing 51st nationally in the Year 10 and 11 Olympiads. I am flexible regarding length of lessons, and am mainly aimed at teaching students at GCSE level, though I am open to teaching for SATs and A-Level as well.
