QTS and PGCE | Online Holistic Primary School Tutor/Coach

Advert description
I am an experienced primary school teacher with a genuine passion for supporting children through a holistic and nurturing approach. I am firm but fair, setting high expectations for all my students. As a classroom teacher, I worked in classes that have had more than 50% of the children with English as an additional language as well as a high percentage of various Special Educational Needs. Most recently, I worked in a school that received an ‘Outstanding’ rating with no next steps for improvement. During the OFSTED inspection, I was observed teaching reading, maths and an English lesson. A comment from the report states, ‘Pupils learn exceptionally well at this school. All pupils are well nurtured and cared for by dedicated staff.’ Lesson structure: 1. Recap / prior assessment 2. An engaging hook to ensure the children are ready to learn 3. My turn - I model the activity 4. Our turn - we do it together 5. Your turn - independent practice 5. Set task Although I have a structure to my lessons, I have a flexible approach. Throughout each part of the lesson, I assess the children to ensure there are no misconceptions. Should any misconceptions arise I address this as soon as possible so that the children are ready for future learning. As a primary teacher, I am a confident in teaching all subjects, including phonics.
