Advert description
I have a strong combination of coaching, leadership, welfare, communication and people-focused experience that I believe makes me well suited to the Student Life Coach role. I am passionate about helping people build confidence, recognise their potential, set achievable goals and make positive progress in their personal and academic lives.
I hold a 2:1 degree in Sports Coaching from the University of Sunderland, which gave me a strong foundation in coaching, motivation, communication, leadership and working with people to achieve goals. Throughout my career, I have consistently enjoyed supporting others, encouraging participation and helping people overcome challenges.

I was democratically elected for two consecutive years to represent more than 18,000 students. This required me to listen to students from a wide range of backgrounds, understand their concerns, communicate effectively and represent their interests. I was also a trustee of the Students’ Union charity and independently created two successful projects designed to support students. This experience developed my ability to build trust, listen without judgement and work with people to find positive solutions.
I also have significant experience in sports coaching and motivation. As a Sports Officer with Royal Caribbean Cruises, I organised and delivered activities including basketball, volleyball, mini golf and rock climbing. A major part of the role was encouraging people to participate, including individuals who may initially have lacked confidence or were unsure about trying something new. I learned how to adapt my communication style, create a welcoming environment and encourage people to challenge themselves while making sure they felt comfortable and supported. Seeing people gain confidence and achieve something they initially thought they could not do was one of the most rewarding aspects of the role.
My experience also includes welfare-focused work with Sky, where supporting people and understanding their individual needs was important. In my current role as a Sky Home Service Engineer, I visit customers in their homes and work with people from many different backgrounds and with varying levels of confidence and understanding. I regularly have to explain
