Online English Tutor - KS3 & GCSE

I provide online group lessons for Year 9 to Year 11, focused on preparing students for GCSE English Language and English Literature exams.

ABOUT ME:

With a strong academic background, including 3 Distinctions at university level, and a lifelong passion for learning, I bring a mix of real teaching experience and real‑world professional experience to my lessons. I thoroughly enjoy continuing to help students improve academically. I aim to help students from a student’s perspective, thereby providing a unique and relatable approach and teaching your child the exam technique and study skills that teachers in school don’t cover.

I’ve taught at university as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, worked as an Assistant Examiner and Moderator for Cambridge International Education, and supported students from primary level through to GCSE as a private tutor for 12 years.

Alongside this, I’ve spent five years working as a Paralegal and am currently working towards my solicitor qualification - a journey that has deepened my belief in the power of words, clear communication, and the ability to express ideas confidently. 

TEACHING APPROACH:

In my group lessons, my teaching is tailored to individual students’ needs on what skills, topics and specific feedback they require to improve. My approach is very focused on building your child's confidence in their academic abilities, and whilst teaching content and exam technique, also equipping your child with study skills that will assist them long into the future. Each lesson I aim to provide an engaging experience, build knowledge and skills, for example, note-taking skills, how to analyse an extract, study a text independently and how to critique your own work. I also provide tailored feedback to each student, as well as providing notes from the lesson and homework to help gaps I pick up in my students’ learning and development.

LESSON DETAILS

Groups run online every Sunday at the same time each week.

• Year 9 & 10 - 11am–12pm - £15 per hour
• Year 11 - 1pm–2pm - £16 per hour
