Learn Brazilian Portuguese with a highly experienced and fun teacher

Olá!

My name is Carla, and I am from Southern Brazil. I became a language teacher 15 years ago after living in London for the first time.

After seven years teaching English in Brazil, I decided to come back to London and, some time later, started teaching my mother tongue too.

I am known for being very organised, committed to my students' improvement, and also for teaching through informal conversation as much as possible.

Especially with beginners, I use a textbook called Samba, which gives us a basis not only in terms of language, but also for culture topics. As soon as the student has enough vocabulary for it, very often we end up stretching the warm-up chat, discussing vocabulary and structures that are useful to this student at this point in their life. This way, we find the right balance between a more traditional - but necessary - approach, and a more relaxed and fun one.

The lessons are complemented with suggestions of articles, videos, series, etc. that will contribute to the student's progress in a natural and enjoyable way.
