Advert description
Hi there! I'm a native English speaker from France, currently getting ready to start my studies at NYU. While I don't hold a formal teaching certification, my English expertise comes from a strong academic foundation: I achieved an A* in GCSE English and a 7 in IB English Language and Literature, one of the highest grades awarded in that qualification. That means I bring deep, structured knowledge of grammar, writing, and rhetoric to lessons, not just conversational fluency as a native speaker.
Alongside that academic background, I've spent years informally helping friends and family strengthen their English, whether that meant practicing everyday conversation, untangling tricky grammar, or building the confidence to speak without overthinking every sentence. That experience taught me that the biggest barrier for most learners isn't knowledge, it's confidence, and that's exactly what I focus on in every lesson.
My teaching approach adapts to how each student learns best. For some, that means structured grammar work and writing practice, drawing on my IB background in analyzing and constructing English at a high level. For others, especially those working on conversational confidence, I focus on natural, topic-based conversation, building lessons around things the student actually cares about rather than dry textbook exercises. Outside of teaching, I'm into football, pop culture, and design, so there's no shortage of topics to pull from.
I'm patient, easygoing, and genuinely enjoy watching someone go from hesitant to comfortable speaking a new language. Looking forward to working with you!
