My priority is to create a relaxed, safe environment where the student is encouraged and empowered to ask questions to tailor the sessions to their own learning needs. It is key to building a foundation of understanding the basic concepts that are often overlooked. I approach tutoring with a student-focused plan, understanding what the student themselves want from the experience. I like to start by discussing what the student would like to gain from our sessions, whether it is content or skill specific. A tailored approach is something that is difficult to achieve in school, but with tutoring I can personalize both the lesson plan and the teaching methods to suit the individual. I prefer to start from the basics, build from there and finish by testing the knowledge using exam questions. I truly believe that with support, any student can achieve their goals.
